United Methodist Men
The ministry of men at BSUMC is defined as a core group of men, partnering with their pastor and congregation, to invite and initiate spiritual growth opportunities for all men of the church. Everyone has different gifts, graces and areas of interest. Therefore, opportunities for participation are equally as diverse. The focus is not inward, concentrating only on those who attend a set meeting, but outward to all men, assisting them to engage the process of spiritual growth. The BSUMC UMM is very active in community service such as assisting those needing ramps or access built into their homes, yard work for those unable to do such, meals for those who are hungry and much, much, more.
We meet in the Family Ministries Building for a meal, fellowship and our monthly business meeting. Our service to the Church is our priority in ministry.
Come join with us, won’t you?
BSUMC UMM designing and building home access ramps for our handicapped and disabled community members.
After the access/wheelchair ramp is installed it allows seniors to live more independently in their own home and can prevent accidents and falls thereby helping elderly to maintain a higher quality of life for a longer period of time. Ramps are crucial for elderly home safety so that in the case of emergency elderly are able to exit the home quickly and safely.
Some of the reported benefits of free ramps installed for the elderly include:
-Seniors taking more trips to get medical care such as doctor's visits and dialysis treatments
-Seniors having increased mobility and more choice in daily activities
-Seniors reconnecting with their friends and communities
-Seniors accessing social service programs
-Seniors being supported to age in place and stay in their own communities rather than having to make a decision of moving into costly assisted living facilities
-Ramps are crucial in the case of emergencies so that elderly and emergency first responders are able to enter and exit the home quickly and safely.
Good job guys!
